Volare

Set in 1946, VOLARE follows young Vincenzo BonGiovanni, newly arrived in Brooklyn from Italy, as he struggles to bridge two worlds: the Old World expectations of his proud, unyielding father and the bewildering rhythms of American school life. When his gift for building model airplanes and his devotion to the radio hero Sky King spark an unexpected friendship, Vincenzo discovers that flight may be the only way to rise above fear, shame, and the weight of family legacy.
