On November 4th, Picturehouse Central in London buzzed with creative energy as CenterFrame celebrated the 1st Birthday of the Industry Showcase. Initially launched with support from Tysers Live and SMB, Picturehouse has now joined the fray.

The event was a thrilling ride with three remarkable shorts from the CenterFrame community projected on the big screen. For these bold filmmakers, it wasn’t just another screening; it was an opportunity to showcase their talent and then meet the industry in person. Here are the films:

Outside Noise

Directed by Ethan Evans, written by Evans & Jess Bartlett

WATCH ON CENTERFRAME

An anxious woman, unable to sleep, turns to a calming ambience app—only to find her soundscape merging unnervingly with reality. Soon, it’s unclear where the app ends and her nightmare begins. Outside Noise takes a deceptively simple setup and twists it into pure supernatural terror, transforming an everyday modern habit into something deeply unsettling. A sharp exploration of digital dependency and loneliness, it plays like an audio-induced haunting—proof that horror doesn’t need a monster when silence itself becomes the threat.

Frayed

Written and directed by Nadine Iskandar and Ben Silver

WATCH ON CENTERFRAME

A mesmerizing blend of meta-cinema and psychological drama, Frayed follows Jane, a young actor cast in a visionary auteur’s comeback film. As she dives into her role—playing Stella, a drifter who finds refuge in a commune run by a magnetic yet manipulative leader—Jane’s sense of self begins to unravel. The film’s layered performances blur the line between actor and character, fiction and obsession, creating an eerie dance of control and vulnerability. With striking visuals and a palpable sense of dread, Frayed exposes the dark seduction of artistic surrender.

Bury Your Gays

Written and directed by Charlotte Serena Cooper

WATCH ON CENTERFRAME

Sharp, funny, and unapologetically meta, Bury Your Gays reclaims one of Hollywood’s most frustrating tropes. Grace, a queer actor, can’t figure out why every character she plays ends up dead—until a mysterious agent reveals the truth. What follows is a clever, genre-hopping odyssey through film and TV clichés, mixing dark comedy, horror, and heartfelt commentary. Both hilarious and pointed, Bury Your Gays turns critique into catharsis, led by a fantastic performance that’s equal parts charm and rage.

The event wrapped with excitement as filmmakers, producers, and guests gathered in the Picturehouse Members Bar for an exclusive networking lunch brimming with creative energy. The room buzzed with the promise of what’s next, and the Industry Showcase once again proved it’s more than a day of screenings: it’s a launchpad for future stories and lasting connections.
