ABOUT THE
DRAGONFLY
INTERNATIONAL
FILM FESTIVAL

As a Non-Profit Unincorporated Association, we’re committed to providing an inclusive and supportive environment for all filmmakers and by awarding categories specifically for Minority Groups, Women and Lancashire based filmmakers, we aim to celebrate those who are underrepresented in the film industry.
Having worked in the independent film industry for over fifteen years, and with around 400 narrative film and professional music video projects in our portfolio, we understand the significance that film festivals play, as platforms for creating engagement, and for sharing your work and individual talents with a wider audience, which is why we're sharing the posters, premises and credits of every film submitted to us across our social media and on our website. Promoting your work is important to us.
Our Red Carpet Screening and Awards Presentation Evening will take place on 7th March 2026 in Preston, Lancashire UK, and tickets will be made available on Eventbrite on 1st February 2026.
The evening will commence with an informal reception, with a professional photographer on hand to capture your red carpet moment - hopefully with a trophy in hand!

We’re honoured to announce veteran BBC broadcaster John ‘Gilly’ Gillmore as our Festival Patron.
A true champion of all things Lancashire, Gilly will be supporting us throughout the festival, and will also be hosting our Screening Event and presenting the awards on the night.
We're also thrilled to share that Professional Events Photographer Garry Cook will be capturing images of our awards and screening event.
Our finalists will be announced via email and social media by 8th February 2026, and the Judging Status for their film will be updated on FilmFreeway and Laurels will be awarded. Finalists will have their films cut into a Finalist Trailer for their category, which will be widely shared across social media and our website on the run up to the screening event.
The winner and runner-up of each category will then be announced at our red carpet screening event on 7th March 2026, in Preston, Lancashire, where the attending winners will be presented with trophies and certificates.
The winning film in each Film Awards category will be screened at the event.
