About YOREFLIX

Yoreflix is an over-the-top monthly subscription video on demand service specializing in historical drama and docudrama content.

Founded by Imogen Cooper, a history student turned executive producer, Yoreflix aims to create a dedicated home for viewers who want to explore and delve into historical content. The platform features carefully curated titles with supporting podcasts, historical information, and an innovative timebar interface that lets viewers engage deeply with historical periods.

Yoreflix actively encourages the development and connection of the next generation of historical content authors and media creatives through various schemes that help Humanities students contribute content to the platform and get their work published online.

THE COMPETITION

Finding the right platform for your period drama or historical documentary can feel impossible. Mainstream festivals often prioritize contemporary stories, and distribution opportunities for historical content remain limited.

We're back with our annual short film competition specifically for historical storytelling.

Whether you've made a costume drama, historical documentary, or period piece set in any era before the contemporary world, we want to give you access to industry professionals who understand and value historical content—and introduce your work to a platform actively seeking this material.
